My Interview with Ianto!

  • Jul. 20th, 2009 at 3:19 PM
This time around I asked the SFUniverse readers to give me their questions for Gareth David-Lloyd and now his answers are live on the site!

Gareth mentions one fan in particular who gave him a My Little Pony dressed as Ianto. If any of you know who this fan might be, she'll love it when she sees what he had to say about it.

Cainan Wiebe Talks Supernatural

  • Jun. 14th, 2009 at 6:10 PM
If you watch Supernatural, you've seen Cainan Wiebe a couple of times. Most notably, he's one of the bullies in Wishful Thinking. Cainan has a blog and he invited people to ask questions, so I asked about his time on the set and he talks about that episode.

Here's the blog post - go over and give Cainan some love.

Win a Leverage Screening in a Town Near You

  • May. 28th, 2009 at 1:06 PM

From now until June 14, LEVERAGE fans can go to http://www.tnt.tv/series/leverage/heist/?contentId=47936 to vote for a city to host a screening. In the five cities receiving the most votes, fans will have the opportunity to attend a special screening of the exciting season 2 premiere of LEVERAGE, followed by a Q&A session with series executive producers Dean Devlin, Chris Downey and creator John Rogers, facilitated through the Skype online communication service. TNT will announce the five winning cities June 17, with screenings to take place the week of July 6.

You have to choose from a list of major cities in the country, but it's a pretty good list, so go vote and good luck!

This and That

Misha Collins has gone Twitter-mad!  There's no stopping him.

Did an interview with a Chuck fan about their amazing Save Our Show campaign. If you're ever thinking of running one of these, she's got some great advice.

"What did you see?" Flash Forward.

The new V rocks and I can't wait.

Karen's Numb3s Finale Thoughts

  • May. 17th, 2009 at 4:39 PM
Karen wrote up her thoughts about the season finale of Numb3rs and I couldn't agree more.

It was really nice to see some genuinely emotional moments between the two brothers. I found the recent 'Don gets stabbed because Charlie screwed up' story odd, in that there was really no exploration of the emotional impact of those events. I understand if the show wanted to avoid soap, again, and I also understand the characters as they've been laid out for us -- but still, it was odd. And while there wasn't a lot of emotional emphasis in this finale episode, what was there was very effective.

I Need Your Help for New Blogs

  • May. 15th, 2009 at 4:31 PM
I started two new blogs that I could use some fannish help on. First up:

TVEasterEggs.com - this is a fun one for me about all those winks and nods and faux websites. Ghostfacers (that's going up soon) Massive Dynamics website, Dean's real phone number in the show.

If you know of a hidden (on the web or on the show) Easter Egg for a TV show, let me know! I'm not looking for fan sites, but fake sites that appear to be real but tie in to a series (like Hellhounds.com)

Next, I just started a Save Our Shows Blog for Examiner
http://www.examiner.com/x-11217-Save-Our-Shows-Examiner

This is a new company for me but I think it's a cool idea. So I need to know about all the great save our show efforts, even past ones you'd like to talk about. This is a much more formal blog, so I'd love to interview people who run SOS campaigns, get linked to websites, anything having to do with Save Our Shows!
I recently interviewed the star of Cry Wolf, Julian Morris, about his new movie Donkey Punch. Not for the faint of heart, the movie is a dark thriller loaded with sex and violence. Just my kinda film, LOL.

Julian talks to me about Bon Jovi, working with Tom Cruise on Valkyrie and how he came to want to touch a really scary snake. Read it here:

Nathan Fillion Gets Absurd

  • Apr. 13th, 2009 at 10:32 PM
Last week I talked to Nathan Fillion - what a doll. We talked Castle and then he told me something he's done that there's no way he's ever doing that again. It starts at TV of the Absurd and continues at SheKnows.com

LA Con Report Part Two

  • Mar. 31st, 2009 at 5:06 PM
When we last left the LA Creation Con, Jared Padalecki was delivering coffee to his co-star Jensen Ackles – sweet huh? Except ten seconds later we all hear the voice of Dean Winchester shout, “What are you trying to do to me!” Jared shrugs and says, it’s very strong coffee. But me, I’m thinking of Alona Tal telling the story about Jared trying to get her to drink coffee with soy sauce in it. . . yeah. Talk about Greeks bearing gifts, or in this case, really tall Texans.

It’s Sunday afternoon at the Supernatural con and Jared Padalecki, aka Sam Winchester has taken the stage.

Christian Kane on Leverage and Lingerie

  • Feb. 24th, 2009 at 1:11 PM
Christian Kane: This is what I love, let me tell you what it is; lingerie. Yeah, I know, I know, it’s always a perverted thing to say as a guy, especially if you’re talking to a guy, they’re like, 'oh, lingerie, I see where you’re going, man,' and I’m like, 'dude it’s not like that, that’s not what I’m doing.' And of course they’re thinking of the characters that I play, and they’re like, 'yeah, it’s all about the girls' and I’m like. 'no, man, its surely not.'

Chris Kane talks Leverage, Lingerie and he tells me something he did that there's NO WAY he's ever doing that again. It's all at SheKnows.com

If you like the interview, please link your friends with no more than a paragraph pulled from the interview. Thanks!

Christian Kane: Lingerie & Leverage

  • Feb. 20th, 2009 at 12:48 PM
I know there have been a half dozen interviews with Christian Kane this past week related to the season finale of Leverage. I've got one more coming up this Tuesday on SheKnows.com but this time he tells a story he swears no one has heard before and he talks extensively about his love of women's lingerie.

Chris Kane talks about bringing romance back to the bedroom and he answers the question, "what's something you've done that there's no way you're ever going to do that again?"  It's all happening on Tuesday on Sheknows.com.
Last week I did an interview with Supernatural story editor Julie Siege, who also writes for Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  We had a long talk about the connection between the two shows and I think she hit on some interesting meta points that fans have been discussing for several seasons now. Spoilery for all aired episodes and we do talk about the future but only in a predictive, meta kind of way.

Read:  Supernatural as Star Wars in Truck Stop America

Please, I'd love it if you shared the link with other fans, but don't post more than the first paragraph, or a selected line or two on your LJ's.

Sandy McCoy's Nite Tales

  • Jan. 25th, 2009 at 3:55 PM

Does that cover shot of Sandy McCoy look familiar?

The DVD comes out Feb 2 - it's a collection of horror shorts.

Moonlight: The Complete Series

  • Jan. 19th, 2009 at 11:23 PM

Vampire detectives aren't exactly new. They're so not new that The Middleman made a pop culture joke out of it when Wendy Watson stated, "I've laid eyes on at least three of the major Canadian syndicated vampire detective shows," in "The Vampiric Puppet Lamentation." We know she meant Forever Knight and Blood Ties and I'm thinking Kindred: The Embraced makes number three. Add in a good does of Angel and there's really nothing new to say about vampire do-gooders on TV is there?

Actually, there are two more words that must be said: Alex O'Loughlin. This is Moonlight: The Complete Series.

My official return to DVD Verdict begins with my review of Moonlight on DVD.

A Novel Netiquette Solution to Spoilers

  • Dec. 9th, 2008 at 2:00 PM
Daisy Whitney has a great column up at TVWeek all about when it's okay to spoil.  Here's a bit.  But you have to go and read the whole piece, it's so appropriate for not only TV reporters, but for TV fans in general.

Am I allowed to mention that Izzie is having sex with Denny on “Grey’s Anatomy?”

It’s not the sex part I’m worried about. What I’m wondering is—is it OK to “spoil” that she did it with a dead guy more than two weeks ago?

I’m guessing that “more than two weeks” probably falls outside the spoilers statute of limitations, even in our digital video recorder and time-shifted world.

But what is the acceptable grace period? How long must we sit mute before we blog, Twitter or post Facebook updates on the cliffhanger or resolution in a new episode of a television series? In this hyper-connected social media world where our friends and our followers see our status updates about watching Meredith die—oops, she’s alive again—what is the netiquette for revealing the ending?

(Disclaimer: The Meredith dying episode ran two years ago on “Grey’s Anatomy.”)

Bowling with Christian Kane

  • Nov. 17th, 2008 at 3:18 PM
Sounds like the title for some crazy indie movie, but actually it was a party for Chris' new series Leverage.

I've got a great sound bite over on SFUniverse where Chris talks about stunts, Angel and the topic of fan fiction pops in for just a second.

And I'm being brave here posting my pic with Chris! I wanted to take his picture alone but next thing I know he was pulling me in close and handing my camera off to another partier and here we are!

New Supernatural Promo Pics

  • Oct. 29th, 2008 at 7:54 PM
New promo pics from the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" episode of Supernatural Click here and. .

Second batch The first pic looks like a behind the scenes since Jared is only in a t-shirt and the other person appears to be holding their script sides.

Also, there's a clip from tomorrow night's episode.

And to top it all off, Jared's new Christmas movie appeared in my mailbox today. I'll be reviewing that for SheKnows.com

Charlie Don't Surf

  • Oct. 27th, 2008 at 1:33 PM
Love this photo for an upcoming episode of Numb3rs. Think we'll ever get something similar with the Winchester brothers? A haunted surfboard, perhaps?

"Charlie Don't Surf" -- When the death of a family friend is ruled an accident, Don (Rob Morrow) and Charlie (David Krumholtz) investigate, only to make a startling discovery, on NUMB3RS, Friday, Nov.11 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
